Maria José Zueco Peña
Professional experience
María José joined the Ramón Hermosilla firm in 2001 and was named partner in 2006. She served as head of the real estate area until, in 2009, she joined ONTIER as managing partner of the real estate department. In 2015, she founded the firm RAMÓN HERMOSILLA ABOGADOS with Ramón Hermosilla Gimeno.
She practices in the commercial-real estate and civil law area. She advises companies from various sectors, specialising in property matters. Given her background in civil law, she also provides counsel on matters of probate.
She serves as Secretary on the Boards of several listed and unlisted companies, as well on various committees (audit, remunerations and appointments).
Education
Maria holds a Law degree from the Universidad de Zaragoza (1994) where, combining her research activity with teaching, she formed part of the university’s Civil Law Department and the Agrarian Law Institute. She received a Master’s in Tax Law and International Tax Advisory in 1994-1995.
As a civil law advocate, she has participated in international conferences and seminars on contractual law reform, consumer/user protections, the Foundations Act, inheritance rights, etc. She completed her training by sitting exams to obtain the title of Notary.
Member of the Madrid Bar Association.
Teaching activity
Maria collaborates with the Universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid in its Access to Advocacy master’s programme.
